about

This also keeps with the theme of liberation sloganeering. Taking a cue from a piece of French graffiti written during the May 1968 general strike that wrote “Sous la pavés, la plage!” (“Under the paving stones, the beach!”), “Beneath the Concrete, A Home” calls attention to the fact that, underneath everything constructed by cities, bureaucrats, planners, civilization, capitalism and so on, there’s still a natural world that can still be called home and can be used by anyone. The tune is meant to evoke a dance, as well as a slow building prayer.
